BEAR X BEAR is more than a project—
it’s a ritual, a rhythm, & shared adventure!!
It all began on January 1, 2023. Every morning since, we meet in quiet synchrony: Twin A draws, Twin B collages. It’s a practice fueled by curiosity, built on the foundation of play, and inspired by the visionary works of John Evans (1932–2012) and Ray Johnson (1927–1995). Each piece becomes a page in our evolving visual diary—a space where experimentation and intuition take the lead.
At the center of it all stands the bear. A reoccurring & familiar figure from our childhood, it carries the weight of twin folklore, memory, and transformation. Our silhouetted bear is a fusion of icons—Care Bears, Teddy Ruxpin, Smokey, Paddington, Yogi, Winnie-the-Pooh—stitched together in a tapestry of nostalgia and storytelling. But "bear" is more than a figure; it’s an action. To bear is to carry, to endure, to create, and to witness.
Through BEAR X BEAR, we bear witness to each other’s growth, honoring the process of making with presence and intention. This daily act of creation reminds us—and hopefully others—that even the smallest gestures of creativity can open doors to connection, spontaneity, and joy.
